Willard (MO) Opens Fire Station

The Willard Fire Protection District finished work on the new fire station and has moved in, reports KY3.

The former fire station was not big enough for modern firefighting and did not have living quarters. The new station will be staffed with at least two firefighters 24 hours a day, which is expected to improve response times.

With a lot of growth north of Springfield, crews in Willard get a lot of fire and medical calls in the area. Plus, they respond to wrecks on Highway 13, and they’re less than a mile from the big tourist attraction, Fantastic Caverns.
