The Victor Volunteer Rural Fire Department finished its new fire station when the pandemic began and was not able to hold a welcome ceremony, reports Ravalli Republic.

Members of the fire department board applied for one of the federal stimulus shovel-ready grants in 2009. When they were passed over for the grant, the board started saving money with hopes of eventually getting enough in the bank to pay for the project.

During the process, a man had sold his model train business and the large metal building became available.
