Vernon Township’s (IN) New Fire Station Is Getting Closer

Vernon Township (IN) Fire Protection District’s five-year plan is coming to fruition, reports tribtown.com, as earlier this year a five-acre site was purchased for $86,000 for a second fire station and training area.

The site—334 S. U.S. 31 between Uniontown and Seymour—is mostly vacant and the current house will be used for training purposes.

The details are still being worked out, and the fire district is seeking a contractor to do excavation work and install a driveway. However, officials said it won’t increase property taxes.
