Tumalo (OR) Opens Fire Station

Bend Fire and Rescue crews spent their first night in the brand new Tumalo Fire Station, reports News Channel 21.

The new station has four bays for apparatus, room for all the tasks that firefighters complete during their work shift, state-of-the-art renewable energy and sustainability features — and, of course, a fire pole, to travel from the upstairs living quarters to the engine.

The building has been designed with firefighter comfort and safety in mind, and at the same time, it fits in with the look and feel of downtown Tumalo. The brick veneer carries on the tradition of old-time firehouses, and the landscaping is designed to attract people to spend time enjoying its outdoor features.
