The Trenton Fire Department welcomed their new fire station in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, reports Neuse News.

The fire department posted on Facebook, “This station is a testimony to our Trenton district and surrounding areas that we will always strive to provide the greatest possible fire protection service. We remain grateful and humbled at the outpouring of love and support from our community during our time of reconstruction.”

The new department was funded by disaster recovery grants from the Golden Leaf Foundation. Hurricane Florence heavily impacted Trenton.

The new fire station will sit on higher ground and replace a nearly 65-year-old firehouse.
