Mountain Brook (AL) FD Breaks Ground on New Fire Station No. 2

The Mountain Brook Fire Department broke ground on the new Fire Station No. 2 on Overton Road Monday, June 10, the department said in a Facebook post.

This state-of-the-art facility will enhance the community’s safety and emergency response, providing first responders with all the tools they need to keep everyone safe, the department said.

Construction is underway and will be completed in approximately 12 months. The old station will be transformed into an extension of Overton Park.

The new facility will also house an additional truck, wbrc.com reported.

VA Firefighter, 70, Dies in Line of Duty After 49 Years of Service

Boiling Springs Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department firefighter Steve A. Weikle, 70, died following a medical emergency.
