Mount Prospect has moved to a new fire station with the aim to improve the department’s response times to four minutes or less, reports Journal & Topics.
Another benefit of the station is that it uses roads which helps reduce the amount of traffic experienced by both the responding fire trucks and commuters. Traffic controls, which are triggered when a fire truck is approaching to notify drivers, can clog traffic.
