The city of Jacksonville, Florida made the following Facebook post Wednesday, July 31:

We love a good ribbon cutting, especially when it is for public safety.

Located at 6575 Lenox Avenue, the new Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department Fire Station 22 is open and operational, meaning faster response times and lower insurance rates for residents and businesses nearby.

“This is greatly needed on this side of town, it’s needed by the men and women who serve out of this station,” said JFRD Chief Keith Powers during the ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning. “It’s going to help response times in the northern part of what was 22’s area, like it needed to be.”
