Jackson, Summit (MI) Fire Departments Create Special Response Unit for Coronavirus

Jackson Fire Department and Summit Township Fire Department created a special unit to respond to cases of COVID-19, reports MLive.com.

Firefighters assigned to the unit will primarily respond to known or suspected cases of COVID-19. They will not be assigned to other stations to avoid spreading the virus.

The joint staff will work out of a reopened fire station. The station is not open to the public because it could risk exposing a firefighter or member of the public to COVID-19.
