Swanzey (NH) Firefighters Want Fire Station

Swanzey firefighters are hopeful that officials fully fund a new fire station, reports Sentinel Source.

In recent years, the town has tried four times to secure a bond for a new central station.

The new 12,000-square-foot fire station would cost $3.6 million.

Some of the biggest problems with the current setup are a lack of code compliance and space. Fumes from the trucks have been known to drift up into town hall, which has caused complaints.

Swanzey has two other fire stations which would remain open if the plan is approved.
