The South Portland (ME) Fire Department held a ceremony to unveil its new $7.5 million station at Cash Corner, reports pressherald.com.
The new station on Route 1 replaces a 1970s-era structure that was torn down in 2020 after the city determined it would be too expensive to repair and expand.
The 17,000-square-foot building has a total of 10 bedrooms, an indoor training space, and holds two ladder trucks, two standard fire trucks, an ambulance, and other equipment.
