The Sioux Center Fire Department received a $100,000 check from the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, reports Sioux Center News.
The money given by the charitable foundation of Perdue Farms will support the city’s efforts to build a new Station No. 2 for the volunteer fire department. The project is estimated to cost $1.3 million.
The new station will be 7,200 square feet and feature four bays to better accommodate its fire engines and gear for the department’s 40 volunteers. Designs include a museum of fire department pieces, including one of the city’s original fire trucks.
