Rowlett (TX) Fire Department Shows Off $7.3M Station 2, Training Facility

The Rowlett (TX) Fire Department recently held an open house for the grand opening of its Station 2 and training facility.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., the new facility—located at 8602 Schrade Rd.—was open to the public for tours. Its central location aims to increase response times.

A report on says Station 2 will feature more security than the previous, 1980s-era Station 2; some parts will be accessible by the public, though the building’s main part will require a key card. It will have state-of-the-art emergency ops, be energy efficient, and cost $7.3 million, officials say.
