The public is invited to tour the new Albert Lea (MN) fire station as part of the festivities for Fire Prevention Week, reports albertleatribune.com, with an open house set for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, at 417 S. Newton Ave.
In addition to the tour, attendees can meet firefighters and view equipment demonstrations, the report says. Public tours are also slated for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. October 10. Virtual tours can be taken here.
The station became operational in July 2020, but due to COVID-19 this will be the first major public event at the new facility.
Officials say tours will take about 30 minutes each and masks will be required.
In addition, firefighters will be attending other public events in town throughout the week.
