Plans Approved for New Fire Station in Worksop (England)

According to a report from The Woksop Guardian, the Bassetlaw, England, District Council greenlit Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service’s (NFRS’s) planning application for a new station at the Vesuvius development site off Sandy Lane.

The new station will replace the existing one on Eastgate, first built in 1963.

The station will be designed with the latest in renewable technology and will self-generate up to 50 percent of its energy needs. The site will also include a training tower, a generator, and a fuel store.

Worksop is staffed by both full- and on-call firefighters who will move into the new station when during its s expected opening date of October 2022.
