Niles (IL) Officials Request Study on Fire Station Renovations

Niles officials wants a study to recommend either substantial renovations or building a new fire station, reports Journal & Topics.

If approved $30,000 would be allocated to the Niles Public Works Department that would oversee a request for proposals seeking firms to conduct the study.

Niles Fire Chief Marty Feld first brought his concerns about conditions at the fire station, built in 1961, to the village’s public safety committee in September. The study for a new or renovated station was again discussed by the committee at its Jan. 27 meeting when public safety proposals for the village budget were made.
