New Charlevoix Township (MI) Fire Station

The new headquarters for the Charlevoix Township Fire Department, paid for by a $1.85 million bond provides the space and equipment the department needed, reports Charlevoix Courier.

With the inclusion of basic amenities lacking in their previous building — such as bathrooms, showers, sleeping quarters and laundry rooms — the new development has already proven itself to be invaluable to the team of 22 on-call firefighters.

After a merger with the City of Charlevoix in 2017, the fire department now has four locations: Charlevoix Township South (U.S. 31), Charlevoix Township North (Waller Road), a station next to the Hayes Township Hall, and the former City of Charlevoix Fire Station in Downtown Charlevoix.
