Milwaukee Fire Investigation Into Racist Incident at Fire Station

Charges will be filed against at least one member of the Milwaukee Fire Department after a “brown figurine hanging by a pink looped ribbon” was found in a fire station and an internal investigation revealed a failure in the department’s workplace culture, reports Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

According to a department news release, Milwaukee Fire Department administration was alerted to the figurine earlier this year. The investigation also revealed that “numerous members” of the department “were aware or should have been aware” of the figurine’s potential to create a hostile environment
