Milton (GA) Fire-Rescue’s Station 41 Shut Down Due to Black Mold

It could take a couple of weeks to rid the station of mold.

Milton (GA) Fire-Rescue’s Station 41 on Arnold Mill Road has a black mold problem and has been closed after it made several members sick. Its crews are operating out of a nearby station until the issue is resolved.

After several firefighters became sick, tests were done and high levels of black mold spores were found in the sleeping quarters. None of the ill had any serious symptoms.

The department removed crews from Station 41 late last week, and officials say there shouldn’t be any negative effects on coverage.

It could take a couple of weeks to rid the station of mold, though.
