The Manteca Fire Department announced recently the temporary closure of Fire Station 3, located at 399 West Louise, due to concerns of structural collapse, the department said in a Facebook post.

A significant amount of standing water on the roof has caused severe cracks and sagging, leading Public Works to advise the fire department to vacate the station until further notice, the post said.

To maintain operations, the fire department is doing the following:

• Engine 3 has been relocated to Station 1 (290 South Powers)

• The aerial truck will now be housed alongside Engine 2 at Station 2 (1154 South Union)

“We are committed to ensuring uninterrupted emergency response services for our community however delayed response times in District 3 may occur,” the department said. “Updates will be shared as we receive more information.”
