Hearing for Historical Significance of Greenfield (MA) Fire Station

A Greenfield Historical Commission plans to hold a public hearing on the historical significance of the fire station in preparation for its demolition, reports Greenfield Reporter.

The fire station building is not considered historic. The library, which was built in 1797, is considered historic. The fire station is on the same lot as the library.

The Historical Commission worked with the fire department to come up with a memorandum of agreement to preserve historic items. Last month, the fire department completed its move from the station into a temporary structure.
