Ground Broken for Memphis (TN) Fire Department’s New Station 1

The new firehouse will be two stories and nearly 13,000 square feet.

The City of Memphis (TN) Division of Fire Services hosted a groundbreaking ceremony last week for the Memphis Fire Department’s $6.8 million Station 1 at 225 Chelsea Ave.

The new facility will replace the decommissioned Station 1 at 211 Jackson Ave. and the existing Station 6 at 924 Thomas St. The new firehouse will be two stories and nearly 13,000 square feet.
