The renovation of Fort Smith’s Fire Station 1 is complete, reports Times Record.
In September 2020, the fire station had both Aspergillus and Cladosporium fungi that necessitated a gut renovation. Firefighters moved back into the fire station in July 16 but had been living out of the engine bay.
The fire station was originally built in 1972, and most of the decor was still from the 1970s before the renovations. Some of the renovations include private rooms and updates to the gym.
