Fire Station Coming in 2022 for Avondale Fire and Medical (AZ)

Avondale Fire and Medical will be receive a new fire station in 2022, reports KTAR.

The Avondale City Council approved what will become the fifth fire station. Construction is scheduled for April 2021, with a planned completion of February 2022 for the budgeted $12.5 million project.

The 19,000-square-foot facility will include three bays, office space and sleeping quarters, a kitchen and dining room, training room, exercise room and a community room for public service programs.

To staff the fire station, the fire department received $3 million Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Administration.
