To provide security and a hardened building, Galante redesigned the station with a very few windows that featured small openings which would not allow a body to pass through.
The House Watch area at the entry to the station was expanded and redesigned.

The renovation allowed Galante the freedom to expand the firehouse’s kitchen from its original footprint.
The FDNY station houses an engine and a ladder in the station’s original bays, and a battalion chief’s vehicle in a bay that was added during the renovation.
