Edinburg (TX) Opens Station 5


Fire Station No. 5 in the Edinburg (TX) Fire Department recently opened and is expected to reduce response times in the north side of the city by at least five minutes.

Contractor and location change issues delayed the $2.3 million project, but the department was able to reevaluate the project, making it a fire station and a police substation that houses for K-9 units and serves as a hub for an ambulance.

Edinburg began staffing the facility in September 2020.
