Cherokee County (GA) Officials Approve Fire Station Expansion

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of land to expand a fire station, reports

The vote was unanimous to purchase the land for $104,000. With the purchase of the adjacent property, the county will be able to add living space on to the existing station.

Fire officials said the existing fire station was built by volunteers and never was intended to house career firefighters.
