Cherokee County Awards Design Contract for Fire Station

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has awarded a $158,000 design contract for a new fire station, reports Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The new fire station will replace an older Mica volunteer fire station built in the 1970s. The existing fire station was not built to house modern firefighter’s needs.

Construction is expected to begin by the third quarter of 2021 and be completed in early 2022.
