Charleston (SC) Opens Fire Station Honoring Fallen Firefighters

Charleston officially opened a new fire station honoring nine fallen firefighters, reports Count on News 2.

Charleston Fire officials were joined by city leaders to open Fire Station 11, which by the city’s only command training center and is expected to improve response times to the area community.

The building will serve as a living memorial for the firefighters who died at the Sofa Super Store Fire 14 years ago on June 18th, 2007. City leaders say they are planning future upgrades at the Charleston 9 Memorial.
