Catonsville (MD) Fire Station Closed Indefinitely

A maintenance issue at the Catonsville fire station has forced personnel and vehicles to be indefinitely relocated to nearby stations, reports The Baltimore Sun.

Department spokeswoman Elise Armacost said there is no timeline for workers and the vehicles to return to the fire station and officials, including Baltimore County Property Management and the Maryland Department of the Environment, continue to investigate the station.

Investigators cut through the floor of a mechanical room in the basement of the station and found an “unidentified, petroleum-like substance” that was coming up through the floor, officials said.
