A Los Angeles County (CA) fire captain who was shot by an off-duty firefighter at their station in Agua Dulce last week has been identified as 54-year-old Captain Arnie Sandoval, reports ABC7.com.

Sandoval has undergone numerous surgeries and is expected to survive after being shot June 1 by a disgruntled colleague. The suspect also shot 44-year-old Tory Carlon, a 20-plus-year firefighter at the station, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooter has been identified as 45-year-old Jonathan Patrick Tatone, who then drove to his own home in Acton, set it on fire, and died by suicide.

The violence occurred, officials say, due to an ongoing dispute between Tatone and Carlon; Sandoval was not believed to be targeted and was hurt trying to intervene. Details of the feud were not released.

GoFundMe page has been created for Sandoval, and a GoFundMe has also been created to help Carlon’s family.
