Bids for New Sioux Falls (SD) Fire Station Come In Under Budget

Sioux Falls’ city officials are expected to sign off on $2.6 million contract with Hoogendorn Construction, Inc., reports Argus Leader.

In all the city had anticipated a budget cost of about $3.3 million for the project, including the construction contract and about $250,000 worth of fixtures, furniture and equipment (FFE) needed on the inside.

Once opened in spring May 2021, the station will need to be staffed by 12 firefighters who work in crews of four and rotate between three shifts. The station will house one full-service fire truck and a smaller specialty to unit that can respond to emergency medical service calls.
