The Ardmore Fire Department celebrated the grand opening of new Fire Station 2 recently, the department said in a Facebook post.
Construction began in September to replace the 40-year-old Fire Station 2, kxii.com reported. The new station is about three times bigger than the old one, according to the report.
New Station 2 cost just under $3 million and features private sleeping quarters, four bays, and a maintenance pit for trucks and equipment, the report said.
Albertsons donates gift cards to first responders
The City of Ardmore announced recently that Albertsons opened a new store in Ardmore. Albertsons has jumped into the Ardmore community with open hearts, donating $20,000 to local nonprofits and by giving first responders gift cards to provide food at their stations, the city said in a Facebook post.
