124-Year-Old Buffalo (NY) Fire Station Still Operational

A still-operational Buffalo fire station was built in 1897 when horses still pulled the engines, reports WKBW Buffalo.

Engine 28 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. The fire station has the fire department’s only operational fire pole.

The stalls which once held the teams of horses here are now gone, but the doors to those stalls remain.
