The Seat Belt Monitoring System (SBM) for Ford F-Series trucks

InterMotive has developed a Seat Belt Monitoring System (SBM) for Ford F-Series trucks that is compliant with the National Fire Protection Association 1901 apparatus standard.

The system was introduced last month on a 2011 F-550 fire truck displayed in Ford’s booth at the Fire Department Instructors Conference in Indianapolis.

The SBM provides an audible and visual warning when a seat is occupied and the seat belt is not fastened. Some of the key components of the system include a dash-mounted LED display, red OEM seat belts and a vehicle data recorder by Fire Research Corporation (FRC). There are also upgrade options for FRC displays and vehicle data recorders (VDRs) and seats by H.O. Bostrom.

InterMotive, based in Colfax, Calif., designs and manufactures vehicle control systems for the work truck, fire, ambulance, police and other markets. For information call 800-969-6080 or go to www.intermotive.net.
