Portland, OR – Firecom announced that its communication systems have been deployed and are in use across all 191 Philadelphia Fire Department fire trucks, aerials, and other apparatus.
“Not only did the Philadelphia Fire Department need a provider it could trust, but the size of our department and the variety of our apparatus required a flexible communication system that could meet specific requirements for each apparatus,” says Joshua McGuoirk, captain. “We chose Firecom in part because of their ability to understand our needs and to provide proven solutions.”
Firecom worked closely with reseller partners RSI Fire and Witmer Public Safety Group on configuring, installing and supporting the solution for the Philadelphia Fire Department. The Firecom-equipped fleet currently contains five aerials, 56 engines, 28 tillers, two mobile command vehicles, two squad trucks, 37 two-person vehicles, 58 medics, and three rescue vehicles.
“The Philadelphia Fire Department is focused on protecting the health and safety of its members as they serve this great community,” said Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers.
