Local officials agreed to revisit a pair of bids for a tanker truck for use by the Upper Greenwood Lake (NJ) Fire Company, after a representative from bidder and prospective loser raised an objection to the proceedings.

The Township Council authorized the purchase of the tanker truck last August, as part of a $1.13 million bond ordinance – ordinance 2011-15 – that appropriated $439,000 for the purchase of the fire apparatus and all necessary equipment. During the Jan. 18 meeting of the Township Council, Township Attorney Fred Semrau explained that the local government’s fire apparatus committee had previously discovered “technical concerns” with the bid submitted.
