Department Says Aging Apparatus Fleet Affecting Public Safety

CAPE CORAL, FL – In Cape Coral, FL, fire department officials are concerned that the maintenance requirements of its aging fire apparatus fleet are going to get in the way of public safety.

Although the city has budgeted $400,000 to repair and replace all city equipment, that amount falls short of the cost of a new fire truck, and the city’s replacement plan had been pushed back in recent years.
