The Douglas City (CA) Volunteer Fire Department and Cooper Landing (AK) Emergency Services will each receive four sets of turnout gear and four helmets to increase the safety of their members.
Departments in NY and TN will each receive four sets of new turnout gear and four new helmets.
Departments in Maine and New Jersey will each receive four sets of new turnout gear and four new helmets.
Launched in 2012, the program is designed to support local fire departments in the U.S. and Canada that struggle to maintain adequate firefighter protection due to budgetary constraints. A total of 52 sets will be awarded to 13 departments this year.
