Medical Data Carrier for First Responders

OTTAWA — Medical Data Carrier IM Inc. and Ferno-Washington Inc. have concluded an agreement to create an exclusive Ferno branded Medical Data Carrier kit to be distributed by Ferno to 110 countries.

Medical Data Carrier (MDC) is a bilingual medical Information system that provides critical lifesaving data about the wearer, as well as provides crucial family contact information, in the event of an emergency. The highly visible, secure and aerodynamic carrier attaches to the left side of the individual’s helmet and is safe for all helmet surfaces. Bold text on the outside of the carrier warns good samaritan responders to leave helmet removal to those trained in the proper technique. Improper removal can result in collateral injury, paralysis or worse. Inside, a two sided water-proof paper contains information on the wearer’s identity and medical history including information such as allergies, medications, blood type and pre-existing medical conditions, that assists first responders with the crucial triage stage of the wearer’s care.

“Ferno-Washington Inc is the global leader in the manufacture and distribution of professional emergency, mortuary, and healthcare products to targeted vertical markets. With a  mission  to satisfy their customers with innovative, cost-effective products it makes complete sense that Ferno would add the Medical Data Carrier to their product line-up, stated Steve Reed, President of Medical Data Carrier. “It is no secret that EMS, fire, rescue and all brave first responders put themselves in harms way when carrying out their duties. With a Ferno Medical Data Carrier on their helmets they can be assured that this simple and inexpensive product will be ready and waiting to be utilized should they become injured on the job.”
