The department has adapted some of the components that are in the Ajax Air Hammer Rescue Kits to make a portable “on-the-go” disinfecting device for sanitizing ambulances, engines, rescue equipment, and living areas.

While we distance ourselves from others physically; strategically; and yes, socially, we must be careful not to do so to the extent that we fully disconnect.
|

The letter was prompted specifically by a fact sheet published by the U.S. Public Health Service placing firefighters and EMS personnel on Tier 2 or Tier 3 priority status for testing depending on if they were symptomatic.

|
In these extraordinary times when ethical decision making is being confounded by a highly contagious virus and a potential shortage of PPE, we must remember that EMS personnel make ethical decisions every day as to what they should and should not do when caring for patients and themselves.
