Two injured in Evans Bay Firetruck Accident

Two people have been injured after a car and a fire truck collided on Evans Bay Parade. The Thorndon Fire Brigade truck was returning from a false alarm.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries to his knee, while the driver of the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries.

Newtown Fire Brigade senior station officer Michael Dombroski said the fire truck had been significantly damaged.

“It’s obviously going to require the replacement of several parts.
