It’s better to give than receive—unless of course you’re the Southport (NC) Fire Department.

Last week, Southport’s Caswell Beach station dedicated its new 75-foot ladder truck, which was a gift from an anonymous donor, according to a report from StatePortPilot.com. The report noted that, with all its additions, the apparatus is worth about $450,000 and has only 6,000 miles of service on it.

The Caswell substation now has this larger ladder truck, two 1,000-gallon fire engines, a brush fire response truck, an air tank trailer, and at least two full-time firefighters are at the station around the clock, the report said.
