Roanoke County, Virginia, recently acquired a new fire apparatus to fight wildfires. The new rig has four-wheel drive, comes with a high-pressure pump, and features a 500-gallon tank.
The new rig was $260,000, but the county expects to recover that cost when the department assists the Forest Service with wildfires outside Roanoke County.
