A South Kitsap (WA) Fire & Rescue pumper en route to a residence on a special service to assist with smoke alarm batteries slid off a narrow road.

The engine was hugging the right side of the narrow road as a vehicle approached from the opposite direction, with the rig ultimately tipping off the roadside. When the driver tried to correct, it caused the road to crumble, according to the department.
No firefighters were injured, but it took at least two hours to right the vehicle.
Damage to the vehicle is now being evaluated.
