Plans Started for New Lewiston Fire Station

The Lewiston Sparkies announced the hiring of Semingson Architects Inc. from Cottonwood to prepare preliminary design services and plans for a new fire station for the Lewiston Fire Department, reports The Trinity Journal.

The Lewiston Sparkies were formed in 2004 and became a tax-exempt organization in 2006. Their primary objective has been to raise funds for the benefit of the Lewiston Fire Department.

The Sparkies have raised enough funds, thanks to the Lewiston community, to begin the initial planning for the new station. The current fire station was used in the 1950s as part fire station and part automotive machine shop. Today’s fire trucks do not fit in the building and a new facility is being planned that will house all the fire apparatus, plus provide meeting areas.
