Residents of Millvale, PA, recently gathered to welcome the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department’s new fire apparatus.
The truck was built by Rosenbauer and was a demo truck. The new vehicle replaces a 57-year-old American LaFrance ladder truck. the new ladder truck is a quint.
The department received the truck ahead of schedule, and persronnel are currently completing training on the new truck.
The department needed to modify its station, raising the bay door and roof to ouse the rig, as well as stabilizing the floor beneath it to support the 50,000-pound truck; the ALF was 32,000 pounds.
