New Brighton (MN) Approves New Fire Apparatus

The city council approved funds to buy a $586,352 firetruck from Rosenbauer Minnesota, LLC., which is based in Wyoming, Minnesota.

The current fire truck was bought in 1986 and was expected to last 20 years. It is now 29 years old and doe not comply with current standards, Deputy Fire Chief Trevor Hamdorf wrote to the city council.

Hamdorf said the truck has limited foam production capabilities, lacks some safety features and doesn’t have the operational capacity of an up-to-date fire truck.

The new truck will have a 750-gallon water tank and can seat six firefighters.
