Meet Marine 1, Lake Avenue (NY) Fire Department’s New Fire/Rescue Boat

The Rochester (NY) Fire Department recently received Maine 1, a new fire/rescue boat, reports 13wham.com.

The 37-foot apparatus is capable of rescuing six to eight people and can pump more than 1,500 gallons of water or other firefighting materials. Its predecessor was a 17-foot recreational motorboat.

Marine 1 will be deployed by Engine 19 at the Lake Avenue fire station for calls in the area of Lake Ontario, Charlotte and the Genesee River.
