Maintainer Custom Bodies Hires David Jans as Plant Manager

David JansRock Rapids, IA—Maintainer Custom Bodies (MCB) found local talent to fill the role of Plant Manager. David Jans, a Rock Rapids resident, brings 25 years of production management experience to help MCB expand production on its line of rescue trucks and other emergency vehicle bodies.

“David is joining us at the right time,” says Shelley Morris, MCB’s General Manager. “We feel David brings the expertise that will allow MCB to increase production efficiency while maintaining our commitment to quality and customization.”

Jans most recently worked as the production manager at a Sioux Falls, SD, manufacturer of premium pumps and spray equipment. Jans holds Certification in Production and Inventory Management from APICS. Jans, who currently serves on the Central Lyon school board, has lived in Rock Rapids the past seven years with his wife Amy and their two children, Joe and Liza. “I see a lot of exciting opportunities with MCB,” said Jans. “The future looks bright, and I see a lot of potential for growth.”

Jans assumed his role on August 11 during an already busy production season. He has been challenged with studying the plant layout and product flow as well as developing employees’ skills and knowledge.
